The Mr. Jack painting, finally complete. Made from candy foil and gum wrappers.
This painting is called Gus Gus. I made it for painting class. It started out an acrylic painting for another semester. Then I was melting wax on it to cover it completely in wax. Then I stopped half way through to look at it and really liked the way it looked like two paintings in one. It’s crowed and half the people that see it think it’s really ugly, but I am quite fond of it.
I finished my egg project.
PHOBOPHOBIA is a sculpture I did for class for our installation project. I spent about a week researching for this project. For this project I bought mason jars to represent each phobia and then filled the jars with items that represented the phobia. I have about 90 complete but I only showed 81 because I wanted an even number of shelves. It took me about three weeks to locate everything I needed to put in the jars, I like to use found objects. I built the shelves and painted them white so that all the jars could look nice on display for critique.
This is Britney Spears made out made completely out of Duck tape, from her skin, clothes, and eyelashes. In total I used 27 roles of Duck tape for this project. The hair alone is five roles and each strand had to be curled one at a time. She took me four whole weeks to complete. She is the first of three that I am making.
I was commissioned to decorate this piggy bank. It is a birthday gift for someone who for every other birthday received flowers but this year they get a pig. So I put flowers all of the pig. I choose pansies because they remind me of summer and they are delicate.
I am so close to being done with Mr. Jack. It isn’t easy to make a painting out of foil. But it looks so cute. All I have left is the light grey foil part and the brown foil for Mr. Jack’s eyes. I hope to do one for little Ms. Jill. If I can find enough foil for it. I haven’t decided what I am going to do with the edges yet. I will cross that bridge when I come to it.
